The Lakeshore Area Rocketry Society (LARS) is your local and premiere club dedicated to the advancement of model, low power, and high power rocketry along the lakeshore and mid-central Wisconsin. LARS operates under strict controls and premise of "...launching is optional, landing is not..." as well as firm implementation of
National Association Rocketry's (NAR),
Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA), and FAA safety codes.
Currently LARS is managed by club volunteers and officers complimented by an increasing pool of equipment dedicated to this exciting and challenging hobby. LARS has been the recipient of funds through TRA for the purchase/construction of launch equipment and has been the recipient of a 2010 safety equipment grant from NAR.
Many of the club officers provided support to local youth groups in support of the hobby. These support and guidance efforts are not only with in NAR, but also in the Boy Scouts of America, 4-H, Rocket for Schools (Sheboygan, WI), and the NASA Student Launch Initiative just to name a few. Example Involvement is further presented on the Community page.
